On April 25, 2023, a scientist was working on a cure for monkeypox when an unknown dealer sold them a chemical for $10,000,000. The chemical was put into a machine, but it exploded, spreading chemicals all over the city. The effects varied depending on the lifestyle of the people exposed. On the weekend of September 30, another person gained powers. His name was Andrew Moore.
Andrew Moore used to be Brady Steel’s friend, but he fell in with the wrong crowd and changed into a rude, fake gangster. Brady and Andrew were once very close, often hanging out at each other’s houses. Andrew had attended Brady’s school until he dropped out in December 2022.
Brady first met Andrew at a fall festival in September 2022. Brady didn’t have anyone to hang out with, so when he saw Andrew there, he decided to introduce himself. Brady said, “Yo, what’s up? I’ve seen you around school, but we never got to meet. My name’s Brady. What’s yours?” Andrew replied, “My name is Andrew Moore.” The two started hanging out, talking about life, and getting to know each other.
The next day at school, they hung out during lunch, walking around the campus. Over the weeks from September to November, Brady visited Andrew’s house several times. One day, Andrew seemed upset. Brady asked, “Are you okay?” but instead of answering, Andrew lashed out and started hitting him. Brady, shocked, said, “Calm down! What’s wrong with you?” Andrew finally replied, “My girlfriend broke up with me.” Brady said, “It’ll be okay, bro. Just relax. I’m gonna leave now. See you later. I want you to chill.”
Brady went home that night, scared, and didn’t say a word about what happened. The next day, Andrew texted him, saying, “I’m sorry for what happened last night.” Brady replied, “It’s okay, bro. Don’t worry.”
In December, Andrew dropped out of school and told Brady, “Brady, I have to drop out. It’s best for me. School’s not for me.” Brady replied, “It’s okay, bro. Do what’s best for you.”
After that, people started warning Brady about Andrew. They’d say, “Be careful with this guy, Andrew Moore. He might be up to something.” But Brady would reply, “Who knows? Maybe he’s misunderstood. I don’t think he’d do anything that bad.”
Between January and March, Andrew began hanging out with a new group of people—the Bickleson brothers: John, Tony, David, and Will. He met them at a club after November but didn’t tell Brady about them until January. Andrew said to Brady, “I found these four friends who are all related. Want to chill with us?” Brady agreed, and in January, he met the Bicklesons.
At first, they were just hanging out. One day, Tony Bickleson asked Brady, “Do you have a girlfriend?” Brady replied, “No, I don’t.” Everyone laughed. John Bickleson chimed in, “Why? Are you scared to talk to a girl?” Brady replied, “No, I’m not scared. There’s this girl I like, but she has a boyfriend.” David Bickleson said, “Why don’t you steal her from her man?” Brady replied, “No, I can’t do that. That’s cheating, and I’m not like that.” Andrew added, “Girls cheat either way, so it doesn’t matter.” Brady defended himself, saying, “Y’all don’t know her, so you don’t know what’s going on.”
Will Bickleson asked, “What’s her name?” Brady replied, “Alexandra.” Everyone laughed again. Andrew asked, “What kind of name is that?” Brady replied, “Just a girl’s name. She’s pretty.” Will said, “Alright, do whatever you have to do. Let us know what happens.” Brady just nodded and left. That day, as he played video games, he felt unsure about this new group.
In February 2023, Brady, Andrew, and the Bicklesons attended Will’s birthday party. While playing around, the group tackled Brady to the floor. He was hurt and didn’t like it, so he left. The next day, Andrew apologized, and Brady forgave him.
By March and April, Brady’s friendship with Andrew and the Bicklesons was crumbling. They started making fun of him relentlessly. In March, they kept pressuring him to get a girlfriend. John said, “Brady, you need a girlfriend. You’re so alone.” Brady replied, “No, I don’t want to right now.” Will added, “You should. This is why you’re scared—because you won’t listen to us.” Brady replied, “I don’t want to listen to you. I’ll do what I’m comfortable with.” Everyone laughed at him.
Brady left, but the group called him and mocked him again. “You can’t get a girlfriend because you stink. Boooo!” Brady replied, “Bye, I’m hanging up.” David yelled, “Don’t you hang up on us!” but Brady ended the call and played video games instead.
In early April 2023, Brady texted Andrew, saying, “Yo, I don’t think we can be friends anymore. I can’t explain why, but it’s for my own good.” Andrew laughed and replied, “Yeah, right. Go be a loser with no girl—a kid who just plays video games all day.” Brady blocked Andrew and the Bicklesons after that.
On October 3, a Tuesday night, Brady was walking home after hanging out with friends. Suddenly, Andrew Moore appeared in his path. Andrew, now known as the Bad Blood Man, sneered and said, “Yo, what’s good, Brady? Or should I say Monkeyrival?”
